Trip to Michigan

Day 1: I flew in to Detroit and AJ picked me up. We ate lunch at Maiz then had dinner with N and his girlfriend and the kids at Red Robin.
Day 2: AJ's graduation with her MSW!
Lunch in Williamston, MI at Tavern 109. I got the Tower of Meatloaf.
Pre-tattoo - see our naked legs?
Here we are with our new tattoos! I got red, AJ got green, & N got blue.
The 3 of us with our tattoo artist.
That sign says "Lucky Monkey Tattoo"
Day 3: Drive to the U.P. with lots of stops along the way. Here we are at "Mighty Mac" or The Mackinac Bridge.
The Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse
We got intrigued by a sign that said "Largest Crucifix in the World", so we stopped to see the Cross in the Woods.
There were a lot of other sculptures in the woods. I liked this nativity.
Then a special treat - the church contained a large collection of Catholic dolls. It was very bizarre!
I just loved these shirts, but they were a little too religious for me to actually buy one.
We arrived to our cabin in Munising on Au Train Lake after dark.
Day 4: Our tour of Munising and Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore.
My view from the porch of the cabin first thing in the morning.
Munising Falls
Walk to Miner's Falls

We wanted to take one of these large boulders home to be a sofa
Loving on the ancient rock!
After our hike, we visited Wagner Falls
Stopped at a beach on Lake Superior
Day 5: Drive home via a lot of pretty stops.
First stop, Twelvemile Beach. We tried to find Lake Superior agate, but no luck.
Then we stopped at Log Slide where we would see Au Sable Lighthouse.
Next, Sable Falls
We stopped at Muskallonge Lake State Park to hunt for more agate, but were again unlucky.
Finally, Upper Tahquamenon Falls.
and Lower Tahquamenon
