Washington D.C. Day 5
USCG Taney just sitting between office buildings in Baltimore, MD
The first exhibit when you walk into the National Aquarium
So many beautiful sea creatures!
This is the famous 3 legged/finned? sea turtle. You can't see that the left front arm is gone because of the angle of my photo, but it is gone. I promise.
Love this view
James and Cora being cute in the Jungle

Washington D.C. Day 4 (Easter)
The Easter Egg hunt!
James and I spent some serious time putting this swing together. James even had to cut a medium-large branch off the tree to make it all work The reward? See below --

Washington D.C. Day 3
No pictures to publish. I helped James with a service project first thing in the morning. Then, we worked the rest of the day on their yard. We dug and planted and dug some more. It was a gorgeous day! Then Shauri took me to dinner with the other women prior to attending the General Women's Conference. I passed out during the conference--like solid asleep.

Washington D.C. Day 2
Cardinals were everywhere!
I made it to the National Mall right as the weather was getting sinister...
...and I loved it!
This man is truly incredible
Right before the rain started.
I walked from the Lincoln Memorial to my brother's work and got a bit wet. We ate lunch together and then he showed me how to get to the White House.
From the White House, I walked to Ford's Theater. I missed the tour of the theater, but I was able to walk through the house where Lincoln died.
A 3 story tower of books all about Abraham Lincoln
I made my way to the National Gallery of Art. After a quick nap in one of the 16th century exhibits, I made it to the sculptures and 18th-19th century art.
The Reading Girl by Pietro Magni
Crouching Rabbit by Antoine-Louis Barye
Ratapoil by Honore Daumier
The Age of Bronze by Auguste Rodin
I have been a fan ever since my sister took me to a Rodin exhibit at University of Michigan
Diana and a Hound by Paul Manship
I took the metro from the National Mall to Eastern Market and met the group at Cava Mezzo where we ate delicious Mediterranean food. After dinner, we walked a few blocks to participate in an escape room. We had 45 minutes to solve the mystery of who stole what painting and how to get out of the locked room we were in. We finished at the buzzer!

Washington D.C. Day 1
Such a cute face to be greeted with!
The plan was to picnic at the tidal basin and enjoy the blooming cherry blossoms. Traffic was crazy and we gave up on finding parking. We ended up at this school and picnicked here.
This little one liked her first taste of black licorice. My kinda girl!
I walked into the Madison Library of Congress and found myself in a strange, employee only back entrance. Confused, I backed out slowly and walked around to the front. Not much better. Back outside, I asked and was told it was another block or two away; "the pretty building." Well, I found the Adams Library of Congress. Not very pretty, but I tried anyways. Same results. Kept walking.
I finally found the Jefferson Library of Congress! (it is the pretty building)
My crappy picture of the famous dome
Minerva, Roman goddess of wisdom and sponsor of the arts. She is also the goddess of defensive war. To her lower left is Nike, the Greek goddess of victory.

Canyonlands Half Marathon
A beautiful day for a run in Moab!
Here I am at the end of my race. I got lucky and ran into my good friend Louise and ran the whole race with her. We just talked and talked and ran a bit. Official time -- 02:54:43
The aftermath -- a sunburn on my shoulders and chest...not too bad though.
