As I was leaving work, I decided to stop and see some old friends of mine. Driving to their house took me past Roosevelt Market and I had to stop and take a picture. So many good memories came back. Roosevelt Market, for those who don't know, sits across the street from Roosevelt Elementary School where I went K thru 6th grade. I loved my days at Roosevelt. I walked or rode my bike most days. I walked more in the winter, mostly in hopes of being picked up by a passing friend, having a snowball fight on the way home, or just having longer to enjoy seeing my breath in the air. If I had cash in my pocket, I would sometimes stop at the Roosevelt Market and get a hazelnut-flavored steamed milk. I remember thinking they were the only place in Boise that served steamed milk. I used to imagine myself buying that place and living in the room above the store. I thought how I would love serving steamed milk and candy to the kids coming into my store. Its amazing how such a simple place can be around for over a century and can carry so many memories. I would love to hear stories from other kids who went to Roosevelt...
