So, at the time I was taking the first two pictures, I had not heard anything about the tragedy in Connecticut. As I downloaded these pictures tonight, I thought about how strange it is that I can find such beauty in the world on a day when such ugliness exists. Tonight, I was able to participate in a Relief Society activity in which we drove to a beautiful view of the Table Rock Cross, then to the temple, and finally to a "stable." At each point, a member of the bishopric gave a devotional on the life of Christ. I took this picture of the Cross, not knowing how it would turn out. I really like the accidental effect I got, though. I know that only the Savior can truly heal the broken hearted. I know that the Atonement is a very real thing that Christ performed in order to succor each of us. He was born in a manger and died on a cross. It doesn't quite seem like the proper beginning or end for the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, but He did not come to Earth for His own praise. He came here to lift us up. He came into this world in humble circumstances, but into the world, He brought great peace, hope, and joy.
