Glacier Honeymoon Day 3 (part 1)

We left Bowman Lake and headed for our next campground -- Avalanche Creek.
Here is Avalanche Creek on the Trail of the Cedars
After the lovely hike around Avalanche Creek, we decided to drive all of Going-to-the-Sun Road. It is a 50-mile long road that crosses the Continental Divide at Logan Pass. It took from 1921 to 1932 to build the road. It was designed by landscape architect Thomas Chalmers Vint. It only has one switchback, called The Loop, for it's ascent along the Garden Wall escarpment.

Glacier Honeymoon Day 1

After a long drive, we made it to Glacier!!!
This deer greeted us at our campsite at Bowman Lake.
Beautiful Bowman Lake
Turns out we left our gas gasket to the stove at home. So we had to have roasted hot dogs over a fire and then drove to Polebridge to see if we could find a new stove.

Honeymoon Day 1

Wedding fun is over, out of the fancy clothes, and ready to drive off!
Janelle has to get one last photo of us
Stu loves to drive
All is good and exciting!
I still think it is good and exciting!
Uh-oh!
I got hungry so we stopped to grab food out of the back of the car.
We made it to our weekend housing and Stu is cooking me dinner.
