Followed my co-worker through Chick-fil-A as they were donating 10% of their proceeds to JDRF tonight. Yum!

Photo Challenge: Day 184

A fun day at the Oregon Coast started with an early morning trip to the tide pools at Indian Beach in Ecola State Park. Later, we went to the Tillamook Cheese Factory, Oceanside and Cape Meares Lighthouse finishing at Fisherman's Korner for a late lunch. In the evening, Koda and I went for a walk on an old logging road above the Nehalem House. We found salamanders everywhere and even spotted a beautiful owl.

Photo Challenge: Day 183

Oh how I love the Oregon Coast. We toured Fort Clatsop in the Lewis and Clark National Park, which included the Salt Works (we actually back tracked just to find that thing...). And of course, went to the beach that Neah-Kah-Nie Mountain overlooks.

Photo Challenge: Day 182

Do these images strike fear into anyone else's hearts? When I was younger, I was terrified of car washes (just ask my mom). I even had an awful nightmare when I was about 5. We were visiting my grandparents in St George, UT and I was given the walk-in closet in my parents room to sleep in. One night, I dreamt that the closet turned into a car wash and I woke up terrified. Not gonna lie, I still get nervous going through car washes. When I have time, I go to Mr Car Wash just so I can get out of the car and let it go through on its own...

Photo Challenge: Day 180

Nico Vega and Imagine Dragons at the Idaho Botanical Gardens. Colette and I "hill crashed" it, along with a bunch of other random people. It was a pretty awesome concert, but we weren't able to stay for the whole thing due to work...lame.

Photo Challenge: Day 178

Got up early for a Sunday morning to take my monthly picture-from-the-same-spot of Table Rock. After church, Koda and I went for a hike in the Military Reserve and enjoyed the (I think) Bachelor's Buttons and Arrow Leaf Basalm Root flowers.

Photo Challenge: Day 177

Colette and I drove to Gooding, ID Friday night. First order of business Saturday morning was to spend some time at Little City of the Rocks. We enjoyed a leisurely exploration of the place and I enjoyed practicing with my camera.
(we thought this one looked like an elephant)
(I thought this one looked like a hand with a really big thumb)
The second part of the day was spent in Hagerman, ID at the Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument and a section of the Oregon Trail. Turns out the fossil beds are just dirt that we're not allowed to walk on...oh well. It was still fun -
(That's Colette in front of one of the fossil beds across the Snake River from us...lovely bit o' dirt)
(I pulled a "Dad" move and stopped in the middle of Highway 30 to take these birds-in-the-marsh-shots...Pretty sure the top one is a cormorant and I know the bottom ones are pelicans)
(This sort of lumpy piece of dirt was once the Oregon Trail...not a fossil bed)
(The lovely Snake River twisting its way through Hagerman, ID)
(The Hagerman Horse - Idaho's State Fossil. Does any other state have a designated fossil?)
